trying is the first step towards failure

dropped my cell the other day and it broke in two. a nice break too-- complete with protruding wires and ribbons. instead of parting with the lifeline for two-four weeks while it was undergoing repair (seems i had no insurance policy) i decided to suck it up and get a new phone. and boy i'm glad i did. the new phone rocks. it's all sleek and new looking. but the real bonus: it has this cute little smiley face guy that winks at me when i complete a task such as add a contact or send a text. brings me such pleasure. i could play with it all day.

more than they bargained for

i've just returned from the annual spring vaca to the green mountain state. t'was a refreshing, lazy trip that consisted of good music, sleep, & ben & jerry's ice cream.

whilst away, the man and i employed two sets of folk to look in on our two very-spoiled felines. cats, of course, need little in the way of human care-- our real concern was their loneliness. so our friends and family obliged, alternating days to stop by and give the cats a hello. in addition to the indoor beasts, a stray kitty has adopted our household and can be found milling about day or night meowing at the sight of anyone who may possess food. seems our absence alarmed her so she decided a gift may lure us back home. a gift discovered, of course, by our "lucky" friends. upon spotting the dead bird, the friends left a brief but clever note for the next shift of caretakers. the note simply stated, "everything here looks ok. there are definitly no dead birds."

ps. anyone want to adopt a very cute, very lonely stray kitty? she's a heartbreaker.
